Who is Me!
Me, Myself and I
Jeff Lamer: A Journey Through Steel, Service, and Sustainability
Hello! I’m Jeff Lamer, and I like to think of myself as a blend of blue collar grit and white collar smarts. As a certified Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic and Construction Manager, I’ve spent years honing my skills in the field, ensuring that everything from climate control systems to complex construction projects run like a well-oiled machine. My journey has taken me to the heart of energy advocacy, where I passionately promote sustainable practices that not only reduce costs but also protect our beautiful planet.
In my day-to-day work, I often find myself wearing multiple hats. As a Field Service Specialist, I tackle challenges head-on, diagnosing and solving issues with a mix of technical know-how and a touch of humor. I thrive in environments that require quick thinking and adaptability, and I’m always on the lookout for innovative solutions that optimize energy efficiency without compromising comfort or performance.
But the world of energy management and construction isn’t my only passion. When the tools are put away and the workday is done, I transform into a craftsman, dabbling in knife making, blacksmithing, and laser engraving. There’s something incredibly satisfying about wielding a hammer or controlling a laser to create something beautiful and functional from raw materials. Each blade and design I create has a story behind it, and I find joy in sharing that artistry with others. Quite frankly, if you ever need a knife that can slice through anything—even the tension of a long work week—I’m your guy!
When I’m not in the workshop or managing construction projects, you’ll likely find me outdoors. I have a deep appreciation for nature, so off-grid camping and enjoying some adrenaline-pumping ATV adventures are my go-to escapes from the daily grind. There’s nothing quite like disconnecting from technology and reconnecting with the great outdoors. I believe that getting out into nature not only refreshes the spirit but also fuels my creativity, enabling me to approach my work with a renewed perspective.
In everything I do—be it in the field, the workshop, or out in nature—I aim to leave a positive impact, whether it's on a project, a blade, or the environment. Advocating for energy-efficient practices and sustainable solutions is not just a professional commitment for me; it’s a personal mission. I’m driven by the belief that our actions today can create a better world for future generations, and that’s something I take seriously, even if I’m often found cracking jokes about how cold it gets in the North.
So, that’s me in a nutshell: a dedicated professional with a knack for problem-solving, a craftsman with a passion for creation, and an outdoor enthusiast who believes in balancing work and play. Whether I’m fixing an issue, forging a new blade, or camping under the stars, I strive to embrace life with positivity and humor—after all, laughter is the best tool in any toolbox!
The Road Not Taken
By Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
